It was started by teens at CCS, for teens at CCS so you know you'll have fun.

Once a month we schedule fun activities so if you want to join us & hang out give us a call!

  • Having fun doing something to give back to
    the community using your strengths
    & talents
  • Learn more about building skills to get ready
    for being more independent as you approach adulthood
  • Participate in advocacy to help raise
    awareness in the community about the
    power of youth voice - & help make the
    system better for youth in foster care in
        Georgia.

The CCS Youth Group started back in 2001 after a couple of teens let us know that they really wanted a chance to hang out with and meet other teens living in families with CCS. Back then, there were not a lot of teens living with families at CCS. Today, at any given time we usually have 40+ teens living with families…so CCS Youth Group has grown by leaps and bounds! CCS Youth Group is called a group and not a 'program' on purpose. Teens who wanted to start the group let us know that they are already in a lot of 'programs' - so we don't use that language to describe what the group does. Much like a community youth group - it's just a chance to hang out and meet other teens, with a few goals thrown in for good measure.

 



The CCS Youth Group is open to anyone age 14 and older. It was started by teens at CCS, for teens at CCS.

It is NOT to take the place of you going to your local Independent Living Program (ILP) activities through GA's Independent Living Program, that are available to you once you turn 14 - it's just to enhance what you may be doing with ILP, and in addition to what you are learning daily from your Foster Parents and team with CCS.
