More Than Summer Camp

Unlike traditional summer camps, our Adventure Youth Program (AYP) is year-round and maintains small group sizes, conducted on a family farmstead.

AYP continues to adapt in offering transformative outdoor experiences for youth at Enchanted Hills Family Farm, a gateway to beautiful state parks, waterfalls, lakes, and trails in northern Georgia. Many get to swim, hike, canoe, fish, and sleep under the stars for the first time in their lives and come away feeling refreshed and renewed.

Enchanted Hills Family Farm

Our north Georgia foothills campsite rests between two streams that feed into a 3-acre pond. Youth can relax in hammocks underneath a canopy of tall pines or stay in cabin spaces during inclement weather. They awake to the rustic sights, sounds, and smells of nature and a campfire. The eating and gathering takes place in a spacious and beautiful yurt, where they can also watch an evening movie, participate in arts and crafts, and simply enjoy the company of the other campers and staff along with their respective families.

How It Operates

\

This program serves approximately 80 young people a month between the ages of 10-17.

\
Trips serve up to two groups of ten children at a time and are offered as both weekend and workweek-long excursions.
\
The staff ratio is 1 (one) staff to every 5 (five) youth; two staff members to every group of ten.
\
Each youth may attend one weekend each month during the school year and one week a month during the summer months.
\
Trip leaders provide observation, evaluation, and feedback in a 5-part quantitative scale to track each youth’s progress.

The AYP Vision

The goals of AYP are to provide youth with a natural setting where they can heal, grow, and flourish.

Hands-On Work

If willing and capable, youth may assist in meal preparation, cleaning up the campground/cabin, and other elements pertaining to a productive life.

Growth & Development

We aim to instill a sense of confidence, belonging, and accomplishment in youth which readily translates into their personal growth and development.
